Hey, I'm Olivia
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. I'm an expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't in the plans I had for the long run. As with many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new habits, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning were part of it at first. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began shaping something that felt steady.
Why I Built Tender Shore Bloom
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in everyday life in Canada.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
